We’ve all been there. Something devastating happens in our lives which seems to act as a catalyst for a domino effect that seemingly brings one unfortunate hurdle after the next. The fact is, now more than ever, you have to focus on you and your energy because you cannot allow yourself to fall apart and lose everything. You have to be a survivor and fight for your life.

How to Be a Survivor When Your World Is Falling Apart

#1. Worrying is a wasteful emotion.

Worrying is the biggest waste of time and energy. Whatever your tough situation is, you have to face it with a mindset to find solutions, not panic. Once you remind yourself there is always a solution and start weighing up your options, you’ll feel that anxiety start melting away as you feel stronger and more in control. Remind yourself of your personal life goals. Knowing you are following your path to achieving your dreams is an unimaginable motivator that can put fire in your soul again.

#2. Analyze your solutions.

Once you’ve brainstormed and identified every possible solution, analyze your options. Write down the pros and cons for each resolution to help reveal your best choice under the circumstance.

#3. Find strength in your solution.

Once you find your best solution, you’ll feel the stress start dissolving, allowing you to think clearly and create a plan.

#4. Discuss your plan.

Discuss your options and why you chose to build a plan around a particular solution with a trusted mentor. Sharing helps create a brainstorming session which may reveal an even better solution you hadn’t thought of alone.

#5. Take care of yourself.

You can’t do anything to help yourself (or anyone else) when you’re a nervous wreck. Whether it’s faith, meditation or other relaxation techniques you believe in, now is the time to invest in your positive stress outlet more than ever. If panic and a negative mindset are starting to push you down a rabbit hole, you have to scratch and claw your way out. Read positive affirmations, follow guided positive mindset meditations; do anything and everything to keep yourself together.
