Even for day-to-day you can use the tips and tricks of contouring to give you that movie star perfection you’re after. Keep reading for a step-by-step guide for how to contour your face:
Here’s what you’ll need:
• Foundation (your normal color and a shade darker – or bronzer will work too)
• Concealer (a shade lighter than your skin)
• Powder (your normal all-over powder)
• Blush (in a natural tone)
• A variety of brushes (and sponges) for: powder, foundation and concealer.
Pro tip: Angled brushes work great for creating contour lines.
Step 1: Start with clean and moisturized skin.
Step 2: Use a brush or your fingers to apply foundation all over your face. Be sure to blend foundation a bit down your neck – this will help blend the color on your face and neck.
Step 3: Mix a bit of your lighter concealer with your foundation – use a brush to apply this new color to your t-zone. (above and between your eyebrows, along your nose, cheekbones, under eyes, center of your upper lip and middle of your chin) Also use a brush to draw a thin line of this lighter mix above your jawline.
Step 4: Now, use a sponge, your fingers or a brush to blend the makeup. Be sure there are no lines along the highlight areas – all blended!
Step 5: Time to start creating those contours! Add the darker foundation (or bronzer) around your hairline, along the lower part of your cheekbones, and on the sides of your nose.
Step 6: Now blend!
Step 7: Add an all-over lightweight powder to both set the makeup and give an even matte finish. Step 8: Add some blush to give your cheeks a rosy glow. Step 9: Follow with your regular eye makeup and lip routine. Step 10: Get out there and look gorgeous! Have you ever tried adding contour to your face?
