How To Get Summer Skin

Summer will meet us in a little over a month.  The prep for the bikini body, the hottest trends for the season, and our travel agenda’s has us all in a flurry.  To add pressure to the season, we are faced with the inevitable skin change from winter to summer.  Oh the blotchiness, heat rashes, blemishes, and dark spots that we try so desperately to hide.  Here are a few remedies to calm you during the summer months.

1. NEVER go to sleep in your makeup.  Makeup left on the skin too long can cause clogged pours which leads to whiteheads, blackheads, and blemishes.  Find a gentle cleanser that throughly washes the skin without stripping your skin of its natural oils.

2. ALWAYS use a toner.  Toner’s are great to further cleanse the skin and reduce pores.

3. EXFOLIATE! The skin renews itself every three to five weeks.  Exfoliating removes the surface layer of dead skin cells, revealing healthier, younger looking skin.

4. Moisturize, moisturize, and moisturize some more.  Moisture keeps the skin supple and helps keen the skin elasticity in place.

5. NEVER leave the house without sunscreen.  No matter the tone or color of your skin.  EVERYONE needs sunscreen.

6. DO NOT over tan.  We all love a nice tan, but too much heat is never a good thing.  Be reasonable with your sun bathing.

7. NEVER pick at blemishes, whiteheads, or blackheads.  You will squeeze the skin causing bruising and unnecessary scaring.

8. DRINK lots and lots of water. Stay hydrated!
