How to shed those dreadful holiday pounds? Cookies, cakes, pies, oh my! The holiday season comes fully packed with sweet treats and the excuse to indulge. After all, you can’t just have one cookie or taste the pie but not have a piece of the cake. It just isn’t right! Let’s face it; during the holidays we become equal opportunity snackers. Yet, the more we snack, we know we will have to contend with those few extra pounds.
Here are some suggestions on shedding the holiday pounds:
1. Commit to walking three times per week. Some form exercise is better than no exercise.
2. Incorporate physical activities in family gatherings. Walk the mall, go bowling, walk the neighborhood to see the Christmas lights, and city festivities. Get out!
3. Connect your family with Kinect games. Turn one night a week into game night.
4. Get back on track with your gym membership. There are specials that gyms run through the holiday season.
5. Drink plenty of water. Flush your system of unnecessary toxins.
6. Try a yoga class. You will be surprised at the benefits.
7. Run through the park with the pets.
8 Modify. Modify. Modify. You don’t have to deny yourself but modification will help you to shed unwanted pounds.
9. Lay off of the sugary drinks.
