Today’s Maven Monday feature comes from Aurora, a beauty blogger from Mexico whose talent seems to know no bounds. One look through her Instagram (@auroramakeup) and you’ll see the range of looks she so passionately crafts on the daily. She’s been an incredible addition to our Mavens and I’m so proud to have her on our team. Today, I’m thrilled to share 3 of Aurora’s favorite beauty tips for flawless application. Let me know what you think! xoxo

MAVEN MONDAY: BEAUTY TIPS BY AURORA
TIP 1: We all know that applying an Eye Shadow Base is important to hold and keep our eyeshadows bright but sometimes it’s not enough when our skin is going to be exposed to extreme weather (rain, heat, humidity, etc) so here is a quick important tip…SET your eyeshadow base with an eyeshadow that has a color pretty similar to your skin tone. That will hold even more primer and the skin will be a perfect silky canvas . My winning trusty duo is the Eye Shadow Base and Pressed Eye Shadow in TIMELESS by Motives Cosmetics.
TIP 2: Let’s talk about that fear that everyone of us has….plucking our natural lashes when we use falsies. Yes I know many of us are skeptical to wearing false lashes because we have the idea that when we remove them our natural ones will go with them. Here is a tip to avoid that: Moisten a cotton ball with your makeup remover (make sure this contains oil in some amount) like Gentle Eye Makeup Remover by Motives Cosmetics. Once your cotton is very moistened place it over your lash line and keep it resting there for a few seconds (20 sec approx) raise it up and check your falsies – do it GENTLY.
Most of the time you will need to repeat the process 2 or 3 times until you see your false lashes detaching from the eye without any natural lash. And that’s it! You will keep your falsies in perfect shape and your natural lashes in place. Find complete details for this makeup look on Instagram. Click here to view more on that look.
TIP 3: In terms of our eyeliner: How can we get it in place, with a long lasting effect and super intensity? Well here is a simple quick tip: use a gel eyeliner. The formulation is long lasting itself and won’t crack or peel off throughout the day. Now set it (I mean cover the whole line and wing using tapping motions) with an eye shadow in the same color as your eyeliner . Use an angle rush for both applications (the Angled Eyeliner Brush by Motives Cosmetics is pretty great)
My favorite combo to get it DONE is Gel Eyeliner in LITTLE BLACK DRESS and Pressed Eye Shadow in BLACKOUT by Motives Cosmetics.
