NuShape focuses on the Largee Fitness technique, a technique made famous by Sebastian Lagree. It uses a machine called the Megaformer to get your body into shape.
The Lagree method is all about taking your time and controlling your movements. According to NuShape instructor, Kristhel “Kiki” Perez, “the Lagree Fitness Method workout uses slow, controlled and continuous tension on one muscle group at a time. While working with different levels of resistance, you work to build endurance, flexibility, balance and core strength. The Lagree Method is a high intensity workout that keeps your heart rate up, It’s also a low impact workout that reduce stress on the joints. It’s perfect for every level of fitness.”
Don’t think that you’re just going in for a Pilates class. The Megaforrmer looks a lot like a Pilates machine, but you’re never on your back, meaning that despite the fact that this is a “low impact” workout, you’ll still be sweating. Kiki says that the best way for a new timer to get the most out of their work out is to check out the studio early to get a feel for the Megaformer. “Don’t be intimidated when you see the Megaformers,” says Kiki. “There are plenty of modifications for the exercises.”
