Natural Aphrodisiacs

When it comes to sexual health, open and honest communication is the best way to go, but occasionally looking to natural aphrodisiacs can offer the romantic boost you just may need. A total surprise for many of us, some of the best and most time-tested natural aphrodisiacs are actually waiting for you in your kitchen. From tomatoes to cornstarch (yes, cornstarch!) take a look at these natural aphrodisiacs that will enhance your sex life in ways you never imagined.

Avocados. This soft and mild fruit has aphrodisiac properties that date back to ancient Aztec times when it was known as the “testicle tree”. Take a bite of this delicious fruit and let its aphrodisiacs get to work.

Garlic. Not too sure about this one, right? Well believe it or not garlic is packed with allicin – a nutrient that helps get the blood flowing. Results? Increased sexual energy and lots of added stamina.

Cornstarch. You know you have this one lurking in the back of a cupboard somewhere. You probably used it years ago to thicken a sauce or make a dessert for a holiday or big family get-together. Regardless of the last time you used it, cornstarch feels as smooth as silk. Try sprinkling a little cornstarch on your partner – it feels silky smooth and is a great alternative to body oil; perfect for a sensual massage.

Almonds. Back in biblical times, almonds were seen as a symbol of fertility and the delicate fragrance is a sexual attractant.

Tomatoes. As it turns out, the tomato has often been referred to as the “apple of love” not just because of its bright red, juicy fruit, but also because eating tomatoes has been known to aid in sexual performance, calming the nerves and aiding in muscle control.

Celery. Seems like a pretty common staple in your kitchen, right? Used most commonly in soups and stews, celery contains androsterone and adrostenol, both sexual attractants when ingested.

Chili peppers. Want to really turn up the heat in the bedroom? Well, quite literally, chili peppers contain capsaicin, which actually increases blood flow and heats up the body, all while releasing endorphins –which makes anyone feel pretty good.

Honey. Not only is this superfood rich in vitamins, honey can increase estrogen and testosterone production, helping to increase desire. Just add a little honey to your nighttime tea – and let it take effect!

What do you think? Did you know you had all these natural aphrodisiacs hiding in your kitchen cupboards?
