Hello, November! Now that Halloween has come and gone, it’s time to give our skin a little TLC. This post-Halloween skincare regimen is meant to right some of the wrongs we may have caused after getting creative with our costumes. It’s all fun and games until your pores are clogged with face paint! Now that you’ve (hopefully) wiped off that full face from last night’s Halloween fun, let’s give our skin a little rehab therapy. Read on for some essential post-Halloween skincare tips.
Your Post-Halloween Skincare Regimen
#1. Wipe it all off. I really do hope that before your face hit the pillow, you were able to at least wipe off your face paint. Glitter, thick paints, and layer upon layer of creepy paints and scars can wreak havoc on your skin. Even regular daily makeup can clog pores and cause breakouts if you sleep in it. So do yourself a favor and wipe it all off before bed!
#2. Give yourself a gentle cleanse. Apply your favorite gentle cleanser in circular motions to ensure you got out every last bit of grime. Rinse and pat dry.
#3. Tone it up. Toner is absolutely essential. It restores PH balance to the skin and prepares your face for the products you’ll apply next. Don’t skip this step! Use a cotton pad to apply toner to the face and neck (but skip the gentle eye area).
#4. Exfoliate. A great face mask will do wonders for overworked skin. I tend to use the Volcanic Exfoliating Mask from Lumière de Vie because it gives me instant results. Leave it on for 10 minutes (avoiding the eye area) before rinsing. Do this twice a week for the best longterm efforts.

#5. Rinse & Refresh. Rinse off your mask, pat dry, and take a look at the change. Honestly, your skin should be glowing by now.
#6. Treat. Now’s the time to add the eye cream (ideally with a chilled wand) and reach for the serum. I often use Lumière de Vie Serum Concentrate for areas where I need the most help, like with fine lines, stressed skin, and just a little more TLC in general.
#7. Moisturize. Now that you’ve cleansed, toned, exfoliated, and repaired, it’s time to moisturize and let your skin rest. Choose your favorite moisturizer but remember that you can use a more intense formula in the evening. Also, for those of you with oily skin, don’t skip this step! Everyone needs to moisturize! Gently work the moisturizer in line with your face’s curves and let it rest.
By this point, your skin should feel refreshed and renewed. Give it some time to heal overnight – that’s when the magic really happens. When you wake up in the morning, you should see a noticeable difference.
