Moisturize. Moisturize. Moisturize. I can’t say it enough. Moisture is the name of the game when it comes to both slowing the process of developing wrinkles and concealing already existing wrinkles. Dry, flaky skin is not what we’re going for here, and that means taking the time to moisturize every day. Moisture plumps up skin, tightening it and creating the appearance of fewer wrinkles, while dry skin does the exact opposite. Find a moisturizer you love and use it every single day. In the winter, step up your moisture game with something more intensive or using it morning and night.

Use sun protection. This is up there as one of the most important things you can do for your skin, but it’s especially important when it comes to reducing the look of wrinkles. While we all love our fun in the sun, it can do a number on your skin, making wrinkles appear faster and deeper. So up your sunscreen game and never, ever leave the house without wearing some form of SPF. If you don’t have time for multiple steps in the morning, try a moisturizer or tinted moisturizer with SPF and then you’ll have no excuse.

Use a primer before applying makeup. It turns out primer does absolute wonders for filling in wrinkles and softening their look. Primer helps create a smooth canvas that locks makeup in place, but it also helps smooth the surface of the skin, helping the face to appear wrinkle-free. Once you have that blank canvas to work from, apply your makeup as you normally would. You’ll be very happy with the results.

Rather than using a heavy foundation, go for something light and airy. Have you ever thought about transitioning from the foundation you’ve always used to a tinted moisturizer? Tinted moisturizer is great for providing light coverage, but also giving skin that added moisture it needs to help reduce the look of wrinkles. Sometimes heavy makeup and foundations can almost make wrinkles appear deeper and more apparent, whereas a moisture based products help deflect their appearance.
