Sometimes a little alone time is just what we need to restore and recharge our mind and soul. Here are some of the most therapeutic and best things to do alone when I need some “me” time.
Restore & Recharge: The Best Things to Do Alone
Take a Bubble Bath.
Pour some wine, light a few candles, and let yourself soak until you feel every worry and stress melt away. After, put on a fluffy robe to keep yourself enveloped in warmth.
Go on a Walk.
Find a nearby park to explore, or walk around your neighborhood. Be alone with your thoughts, listen to a podcast, or listen to a favorite album. Fresh air can do wonders for the spirit.
Treat Yourself to a Solo Date.
Take yourself to the movies, lunch, dinner, a fancy craft cocktail bar or all of the above. Splurge on popcorn, dessert, and that second drink. You deserve it.
Write.
Find a cute notebook, pick up a pen, and let the words flow. There’s something very liberating and relaxing about purging your thoughts and feelings and putting them to paper.
Volunteer.
Find a cause near and dear to your heart and spend time giving back. The more you give, the more you get.
Go on Vacation.
Head to the beach for a long weekend and spend your days lounging by the ocean, reading a book, and taking naps. There’s nothing a little ocean therapy and negative ions can’t cure.
Hit the Spa.
Book one treatment or everything on the menu. Let yourself enjoy a salt scrub, pedicure, and/or a back or full body massage. When your body feels good, so does your mind.
Rest.
Wake up late, stay in your pajamas all day, order takeout, and binge-watch your favorite Netflix show. You have no one to answer to on a lazy Sunday but yourself.
Cook.
Buy the ingredients to your favorite meal or try out something brand new. Spend some quality time making a meal you are proud of and excited to eat.
