Soothing Soreness

By now, you should have already hit the gym for your post-holiday workout.  You were sooo proud of yourself.  But today you are sooo sore!  You’ll want to take care of those aches and pains with a these easy tricks, because last thing we want is you missing your next workout.

– Ice

After an intense workout, before you even feel the soreness, add some ice or cold compress to the muscles that
were most use.  This will help prevent swelling.

– Massage

Grab a tennis ball and roll through the aches.

– Epson Salt

You’ve probably heard this one before.  Epson salt is said to help reduce inflammation and sooth sore muscles.

– Stretch

Make sure you dedicate about 10 minutes to stretching your body before your next workout.  But also make sure
your body is warm.  You can injure yourself by trying to stretch without warming your body first.

– Rest

If you find yourself sore to the point that you can barely walk (you know that feeling!), the best thing to do is rest.  And that doesn’t necessarily mean taking a day off.  You can alternate muscle groups so you are still able to workout every day.

Happy sweating!

xoxo,

Loren
