When it comes to cosmetic brands, most of them are looking to the future. Modern clear labels, and new and improved makeup techniques are usually all the rage when it comes to newsworthy makeup. That is, except for Bésame Cosmetics. Creator Gabriela Hernandez chose to focus on the past. Bésame is all about vintage makeup application and formulas. Their lipsticks are shaped like lipstick tubes of the 20’s, 30’s, 40’s and 50’s and their ingredients are all ingredients that you might find in a lipstick tube from the past.
The brand even sells a mascara pad, complete with vintage-looking packaging and the brands name printed in swirly cursive. Bésame has cornered a unique market and has even been seen on American Horror Story: Freak Show. I love the idea of this makeup brand. It creates a cult following and is a fun way to play with makeup.
