This winter has been especially tough with more snowy and cold days than I ever remember. And, it’s made staying on track with healthy habits really challenging! (I can’t be alone here!) While warm weather and sunshine usually has me craving fresh juices and runs on the beach, these frigid temps have made me want to curl up on the couch and drink hot chocolate. Getting back on track with some healthy habits might be tough, but I am definitely going to try! Check out these tips for making your health your priority – even when the wind is blowing and the snow won’t stop falling.
When Winter Brings You Down – Stay Healthy!
· Exercise. I know – this is a tough one. Even if it means practicing some yoga moves in your living room – get moving. You’ll feel SO much better!
· Drink warm water with lemon, daily. This keeps your liver clean and your metabolism working!
· Cut back on the coffee and opt for herbal and green teas.
· Staying hydrated (even in winter!) is so important. Try to drink about 60 ounces of h2o per/day.
· Skip the junk food and go clean. Opting for whole grains, fruits and veggies will keep you feeling great, even if the weather is bringing you down.
· Have fun! Get out and enjoy that crazy weather – build a snowman, go for a walk and take some pics.
