You know it’s that time of year when pumpkin spice lattes make their annual appearance on the Starbucks menu – and it seems once I have one, I just can’t stop! If you’re on a budget or are watching calories, pumpkin spice lattes at Starbucks on the daily are probably not an option. So, here’s a great DIY: how to make a pumpkin spice latte at home (any time of year!). Check out my go-to recipe below. Enjoy!
Yum! DIY Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe
- 1 teaspoon Pumpkin Spice Syrup or 2 tablespoons canned pumpkin (your choice)
- 2 cups milk (you can use soy, almond, dairy – your preference)
- 1-2 tablespoons of sugar or the equivalent in sugar substitute (like Splenda or Stevia)
- Splash of vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1-2 shots espresso or ½ cup of very strong coffee
- Whipped cream (optional)
- Stir together milk, pumpkin, sugar, spices and vanilla. Heat in a saucepan on the stove until steamy. Whisk until it’s nice and foamy. Pour into a mug, add espresso. Top with whipped cream and a dash of pumpkin pie spice.
