One of the most powerful segments at MAWC 2016 was Daymond John’s piece on harnessing “The Power of Broke.” Having created urban clothing line FUBU in 1992 with only $40 to his name, he knows a thing or two about building something out of nearly nothing. It’s one of the things that drew us to working together on a feature for his book. So when he addressed the thousands of attendees at World Conference, the message was absolutely clear and heartfelt – you don’t need money to make money. But you do need to harness any and every resource at your disposal, including your absolute need to succeed. Leverage what you have because it will make all the difference in your outcome.

“I share my history with people to help them,” he said. “Look at me: I came from a very poor community, my parents were divorced, I’m dyslexic, was left back and never went to college. But here I am.”
