Taking the time to de-clutter is really not an easy task! You need the time, space and an organizational plan. (sounds crazy – all this for a desk?) Check out these desk organization tips to get cleaning and get organized.
Quick and Easy Desk Organization Tips
- Assess your space. Which tasks do you use your desk for most? Do you only work at your computer? Do you also take notes or draw sketches? Cut fabric? Scrapbook? What is the main purpose of your desk?
- Think about your desk as its own little room. Look at your desk in quadrants – just like you would break down an entire room, and decide which sections should hold supplies. Do you like to have your pens and pencils in the right-hand drawer or left? Should your computer be in the middle or do you prefer to work off to the side? What is the best spot for your files?
- Prioritize based on your evaluation. Now that you have mapped out a spatial plan, decide what stays and what goes. Get selective about what you really must have and what you can part with (you can do it!). Shred or recycle old paperwork, toss old pens and pencils and definitely give that junk drawer some extra special attention!
Organizing your desk will feel so good and you will probably become so much more productive when you have some space to spread out. Do you have any great desk organization tips?
