Time to Work On Your Self Esteem
- Write it Down- Write down what you like about yourself. You can start out with something as trivial as your hair. Write it down. Keep a running list to come back to when you need it. It can seem silly at first but trust me, it helps.
- Focus on the Now- When we have low self-esteem, it’s because we’re most likely focusing on the things that cannot be. You’re thinking future thoughts and stressing over outcomes. Listen, that’s okay but focus on what’s in front of you right now. Focusing on the present will help you overcome your low self-esteem.
- Keep a Journal- A big part of having low self-esteem is not working on yourself and acknowledging your feelings. Feel your feelings in a productive way by journaling. I like to journal because it helps me get out my feelings in a thoughtful way rather than letting them all blow-up. Try it out for yourself.
- Notice Your Feelings- Notice when you’re feeling bad about yourself and ask yourself why. Why do you feel the way you do? Doing this will help you to look at your situation objectively.
- Learn to be Active- Learn to be an active participant in your life. When you let your feelings about yourself control your life, you aren’t truly living so stop thinking and start living instead, people.
