The concept behind this year’s TIME 100 Most Influential People in the World is extraordinary. In honor of the list‘s 10th anniversary, TIME chose seven visionaries “who reflect the breadth and depth” to have individual, special edition covers released across the globe. Four of them are being circulated in the United States.
What I love most about reading the TIME Magazine 100 Most Influential People in the World profiles is that they are written by other public figures and not a staff writer following a basic interview format. You see the person through the eyes of another equally influential person, offering a fresh and unique perspective.
- Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani schoolgirl advocating for girls’ rights (profile by Chelsea Clinton)
- Jay Z, whose journey from hip-hop artist to powerful entrepreneur symbolizes the American Dream narrative (profile by Michael Bloomberg)
- Jennifer Lawrence, who charmed the world when she won her first Oscar (profile by Jodie Foster)
- Rand Paul, the first-term Kentucky Senator (profile by Sarah Palin)
- Inventor and entrepreneur Elon Musk who is a global visionary for a cleaner, greener future (profile by Richard Branson)
- Li Na, the Chinese tennis phenomenon revolutionizing the sport in her homeland (profile by Chris Evert)
- Aamir Khan, the Bollywood star using his influence to raise social awareness in India (profile by A.R. Rahman)
I can’t wait to pick up my copy with Jay Z on the cover – very much looking forward to reading it. The TIME 100 Most Influential People issue hits newsstands tomorrow, Friday, April 19th.
