You know how much I love a good awards show, but I have to admit – the Golden Globes are one of my absolute annual favorites. With so much negative news rolling through Hollywood these days, it’s wonderful to have a night that’s fun, lighthearted and full of fashion. The hot button topic of harassment in Hollywood was not at all forgotten during this year’s awards program. Read on to see what the press had to say about the 2018 Golden Globes!
2018 Golden Globes Recap
According to NBC News, “All eyes are on the Golden Globe Awards tonight — and not just for the red carpet and big winners. Dozens of actresses (and several men) arrived at the Globes in black outfits, a symbolic statement of solidarity with victims of sexual misconduct. The first major awards show since explosive harassment and assault allegations rocked Hollywood, the awards show will also be closely watched this year for how its host, Seth Meyers, and the winners and presenters make use of their time at the mic.”
With that in mind, it was impressive to see so many of Hollywood’s key players stand in solidarity, yet also spend a night celebrating their fellow actors for some amazing accomplishments. A spirit of change was in the air (#TimeisUp) and the support for one another was palpable – making this one of the most memorable Golden Globes of the last few years.
