Who caught the 2019 Grammy’s last night? I was glued to my TV ready to support my girl Alicia Keys. She hosted the event with love and honesty. She made for an incredible host, and I’m so proud of her. “Do you feel that love in the building?” she said at the beginning of the program. “This is love; this is life, this is living, this is light, and all because of music.” She brought out Lady Gaga, Jada Pinkett Smith, Michelle Obama, and my sis Jennifer Lopez to speak about music as a way for empowerment and empathy. I couldn’t be prouder. Did you see her play on TWO grand pianos? The woman is amazing. I love her so much.
Jennifer Lopez gave her all during her Motown tribute. There’s no question that she is a versatile artist capable of anything. I’m incredibly proud of everything she’s done and all the hard work her puts into her art. She was there to support Alicia and show the world where her talents lie during her six-minute performance. She’s phenomenal!
Miley Cyrus made her way to the Grammy’s stage twice. First joining Shawn Mendes, and then appearing again for a tribute to her godmother, Dolly Parton. She gave two performances that awed audiences and I couldn’t be more proud of her. Great job, Miley.
The night belonged to Cardi B. First; she made the biggest entrance in a Mugler dress from the 1990s. She knows how to keep people on their toes. Then, she performed her song, “Money” on top of a jewel-encrusted piano. Finally, she made Grammy history as the first Latina to win best rap album. Go, Cardi!
Congrats to all the winners and performers. Grammy’s night was amazing!
