5 Christmas Movies To Watch This Weekend

There’s nothing like watching a good Christmas movie during the holidays. On Christmas day I love to stay home in my pj’s with my family, have a home cooked meal, and watch movies all day. There’s always a classic or new movie that I love to catch up or better yet go to the movies on Christmas day! Below are my recommendations for 5 Christmas movies to watch this weekend!

1. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. The family goes on a quest for “The Griswold Family Christmas Tree.” With his usual over-enthusiasm, Clark has planned a “good, old-fashioned family Christmas.” His family is wary of his plans but Clark is oblivious. He has nostalgic moments of Christmas past when he is accidentally locked in the attic. Clark outdoes himself with 25,000 lights on the roof, but he can’t get the power on. Eventually the lights turn on and they are spectacular. In addition to the usual family get together, the Griswolds have some unexpected visitors. Expect lots of laughter with friends and family.

2. With a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes the movie review site, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t watch this movie. On vacation in Los Angeles, Walter, the world’s biggest Muppet fan, and his friends Gary (Jason Segel) and Mary (Amy Adams) from Smalltown, USA, discover the nefarious plan of oilman Tex Richman (Chris Cooper) to raze the Muppet Theater and drill for the oil recently discovered beneath the Muppets’ former stomping grounds . Who doesn’t love a good muppet movie?

3. A beautifully made animation film create for everyone in the family. Arthur Christmas, an Aardman production for Sony Pictures Animation, at last reveals the incredible, never-before seen answer to every child’s question: ‘So how does Santa deliver all those presents in one night?’ The answer: Santa’s exhilarating, ultra-high-tech operation hidden beneath the North Pole.

4. Fun, romantic, and funny, The Holiday is a lovable story with all the Christmas trimmings. It all begins when two successful, yet unhappy women connect through a home-swapping website, and decide to trade houses for the Christmas holiday in a mutual effort to forget their man troubles. The movie is led by Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz, Jack Black, and Jude Law.

5. You can never go wrong with Home Alone.  Kevin McAllister is a young boy who finds himself home alone after his family accidentally leaves him behind for Christmas vacation.  He is thrilled at first, until he learns just how much he depends on his family for companionship and support.  Robbers threaten to break into his house, he knows he must muster up some independence and fight back.
