It’s almost time for the big release of “Baywatch” in theaters and I can’t wait to see how they adapted the popular series for the big screen. Actress Alexandra Daddario spoke to Women’s Health about how she got swimsuit ready to play Summer, love interest to the hunky Zac Efron. You might be surprised by this bit of news, but the 31-year-old had to put on weight for the role!
“The ongoing joke is that everyone in the movie is supposed to be supernaturally attractive,” she says in the cover story. “Really, I’ve never done anything where I’ve thought about my body as much. You are literally in a bikini the entire day. I even wore a swimsuit when I auditioned with Zac.”

As much as I love the summer, you can’t really be comfortable having to be in a bikini all day. Miss Daddario has my total respect! So to prepare for all that, she signed on to work with celebrity fitness trainer Patrick Murphy who just so happens to also train Efron. So you know that her workouts were anything but easy. Especially since the goal for the film was to transform her slim body to show “visual lines of definition.”
Daddario admits that the pair trained hard 4-5 days a week for an hour long session that at first, overwhelmed her with nausea. They mainly focused on High Intensity workout using free weights, sliders, TRX straps, resistance bands, and BOSU balls,” she told the publication.
The results have been so amazing, that Daddario continues to work with Murphy even though the film has been wrapped for sometime. She’s not putting in the same hard work, however. The duo only work out together twice a week at his West Hollywood studio.
