Actor Antonio Bandera attended the 8th annual Premio Juventud Awards along with his beautiful wife Melanie Griffin in Miami last night. The awards show kicked off with a high-energy duet by Prince Royce and reggaeton star Daddy Yankee, who performed the duo’s new hit single “Ven Conmigo.” The star-studded evening and who’s who of the Latin industry featured an “unprecedented number of worldwide premieres,” among them Spanish singer-songwriter Natalia Jimenez’s performance of her first single as a solo artist, “Por Ser Tu Mujer.”
One of the highlights of the evening included, pop star Ricky Martin presenting actor Antonio Banderas with the Supernova prize in recognition of his work as an idol for Latin American youth. Colombian superstar Shakira was the winner in the Best Moves category and made an appearance via Skype to thank her fans for their votes and her home city of Barranquilla for teaching her to dance.
According to Univision, the Premios Juventud (Youth Awards) celebrate the “preferences of today’s Hispanic youth” in the fields of pop culture, film, music and novelas (soap operas).
