Los Angeles is hosting the summer Television Critics Association presentations and there are so many great entertainment stories coming out! It was announced today, during CBS presented their fall line-up, that multiple Tony Award-winner Audra McDonald would be joining season two of “The Good Fight,” as a series regular. For those of you who don’t have this show on your radar, I can’t recommend it enough.
Audra McDonald Joins Cast of “The Good Fight”
As the follow-up to “The Good Wife,” you’ll witness some powerful women—mainly attorneys—who are now part of the African American owned firm Reddick, Boseman, & Kolstad. This includes power attorney Diane Lockhart (played by Christine Baranski) who was forced out of her previous law firm in the premiere episode of “The Good Fight.”
McDonald will reprise the role of attorney Liz Lawrence, who audiences met in “The Good Wife.” But of course, there has to be a twist! Lawrence will be revealed to be the ex-wife of Adrian Boseman (Delroy Lindo) a named partner at Diane’s law firm.
“We’re thrilled that Audra McDonald will return to the fictional Chicago of “The Good Fight,” said executive producers Robert and Michelle King in a statement. “After seeing her facility with both comedy and drama, we were dying for the chance to work with her again. Audra brings intelligence, strength, and wit to Liz Lawrence, the character she developed in the fourth season of ‘The Good Wife.’”
The bad news? Fans won’t see new episodes until early 2018.
