They say laughter is the best medicine and I wholeheartedly agree. You have to lighten up sometimes. The best thing you can do for yourself is take a break, find something that amuses you, and disconnect for a bit. Especially when you’re overworked, stressed, or in the middle of a major undertaking. Trust me when I tell you the relief will make you even more productive. So in light of all the big goals we’re setting at the beginning of the year, and the big events we’ll be attending soon, I’ve rounded up some great new reads that should have you laughing out loud from page one.
3 New Books That Will Have You Laughing out Loud
#1. “I Hate Everyone, Except You” by Clinton Kelly – If you were a fan of the fashion styling show What Not to Wear, you’ll love reading host Clinton Kelly’s collection of humorous essays about his journey “from awkward kid to slightly-less-awkward adult. Whether he’s throwing his baby sister in the air to jumpstart her cheerleading career or heroically rescuing his best friend from death by mud bath, Clinton leaps life’s social hurdles with aplomb.” (via Simon & Schuster)

#2. “The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo” by Amy Schumer – Amy Schumer is not afraid to tell it like it is and her humor reflects that blatant honesty. In her first publication, “Amy mines her past for stories about her teenage years, her family, relationships, and sex and shares the experiences that have shaped who she is—a woman with the courage to bare her soul to stand up for what she believes in, all while making us laugh.” (via Simon & Schuster)

#3. “Best. State. Ever. A Florida Man Defends His Homeland” by Dave Barry – If you’re joining me in Miami, have a good laugh about the Sunshine State from local author and funny man, Dave Barry. “We never know what will happen next in Florida. We know only that, any minute now, something will. (via Penguin Randomhouse)”
