Jay Leno is retiring after 22 years with The Tonight Show and following what feels like forever of rumors and gossip, it’s finally been confirmed that Jimmy Fallon will take over in the spring of 2014. Jay released a statement of congratulations, saying, “I hope you’re as lucky as me and hold on to the job until you’re the old guy. If you need me, I’ll be at the garage.”

The Tonight Show will also be moving after Jay Leno officially finishes up a year from now, heading back to New York City, giving Jimmy Fallon and executive producer Lorne Michaels a much easier commute.
NBC has yet to reveal what will happen to Jimmy’s current 12:15 timeslot.
