We’ve come upon Halloween and I know many of you are rushing to put together the last minute details of your party. It’s not too late! Kathleen Pagan, entertaining expert, design expert who runs the popular blog Endlessly Elated, has some tips to help you host the hottest party on the block.
“With so many great options available to you on Pinterest, you can create a festive menu in no time,” Kathleen said. “You can find simple recipes for Eyeball Tacos, Spider Deviled Eggs, Snakes on a Stick, that will put the “ooo” in spooky. Just make sure these themed dishes taste as good as they look. Do not forgo quality.”
For those of you planning an adult only party, you can’t forget the cocktails. “Hosting a party without cocktails is just a meeting,” she explained. “Having a fully stocked bar, inclusive of spirits, wines, and beers is undoubtedly the way to go. Plus, providing guests with different options is sure to please everyone’s palate.”
Even though it’s Halloween, not everyone may want to dress up. Should hosts feel pressured to make their parties costume only? Kathleen says, no. “Nothing screams ‘full on party fail’ than making guests feel uncomfortable. So, I say don’t REQUIRE guests to wear a costume. Certainly recommending it is a perfectly good option. This will freely allow your guests to do whatever they deem fit versus feeling obligated and dare I say it, skipping your party altogether.”
Whether your guests wear a costume or not, get in the spirit of Halloween and decorate your house with spooky decor. “Decorating your home with tons of spider webs, hanging bats, and carved out pumpkins is outright amazing!, she explained. “All of these items are fairly inexpensive and can be found at your local party store. I say, just have fun with it. After all, it is a celebration!”
Don’t forget to take lots of photos and post them all over social media. You never know if your party will inspire people next year.
