Sarah Jessica Parker (or, SJP, as fans affectionately call her), made it a point to put family first at the 2017 People’s Choice Awards. As E! News reported, while celebrating a win, “she had one more major event on her calendar—her daughters’ piano recital.”
“I’m running to catch an airplane right now. Literally I have two more seconds then I have to run home,” she said. “I’m going back home to New York. My daughters have a piano concert tomorrow, so I have to be there for that.” What a beautiful mom moment!
Parker is a mother of three; she has 8-year-old twins Marion and Tabitha, as well as 15-year-old son James, with husband Matthew Broderick. So it’s fair to say she’s got her hands full. But it’s great to see someone who has as much success as she put family first. It takes a very strong parent to find balance in that existence. And it’s not always easy. This is a great example of choosing family and finding balance.
“Horribly bumpy red eye home but happy ending with a safe landing and lovely flight attendants that held my hand,” she described on Instagram. It doesn’t get more real than that. Parenting is full of sacrifices, especially if you’re a working mom. But there’s nothing we wouldn’t do for our children. Big kudos to SJP for her example.
