When it comes to success, Joseph “Fat Joe” Cartagena knows what it takes to get to the top. Through his label Terror Squad, he helped launch the careers of well-known performers such as Pitbull, Rick Ross, and DJ Khaled. But we at Market America also know Joe as our President of Latino and Urban Development. He is no stranger to hard work and sacrifice. And it’s that same tenacity that has brought him two Grammy nominations for his hit song “All the Way Up.”
Yesterday at the Market America World Conference, our thousands of entrepreneurs were treated to an exclusive performance of Fat Joe’s hits “Lean Back” and “All the Way Up” before he made his way to Los Angeles for Sunday’s Grammy Awards. Just ahead, I’m sharing some of the powerful words Joe shared with us, and some excerpts from his performance.
Joseph “Fat Joe” Cartagena Presents & Performs at MAWC 2017
Before he performed his hits, “All the Way Up” and “Lean Back” Joe had some wisdom for every entrepreneur in the room. Here’s what he had to say about Market America, success, and reaching your goals.
“This country could learn from us. At Market America, we encourage everybody.”
“This is one team, one dream.”
“Where else on planet Earth can you join a business where you can become a millionaire and be your own boss?”
“The only reason for this company to exist is to help you out.”
“This is real stuff. This is empowering stuff. JR created a company that literally changed lives for thousands of people.”
“These are turbulent times. You need to believe now more than ever. There are no do-overs in life. You can’t rewind the clock.”
“This isn’t about getting lucky. This is about working.”
“A lot of times we let negativity overwhelm us. A lot of times we get around negative people and it becomes a cancer. You know how many times in my life I’ve been told to stop? You gotta be relentless. You can’t listen to these people.”
“You have to leave this conference feeling confident. You need to believe. Make it your new DNA.”
“There’s always going to be doubters. There’s always going to be haters. You gotta take the negative and turn it into a positive every time.”
