Who runs the world? Girls! The first photo of the all-female reboot of Ocean’s 8 was released on Monday by Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow Pictures followed by a popular Twitter post by star Rihanna. The image shows the all-star cast Sandra Bullock (Debbie Ocean), Cate Blanchett (Lou), Rihanna (Nine Ball), Amita (Mindy Kaling), Helena Bonham Carter (Rose), Anne Hathaway (Daphne Kluger), Sarah Paulson (Tammy), and newcomer Awkwafina on a subway train in New York City.
The film, set to be released on June 8, 2018, you’ll see these eight women plan and execute a heist in the Big Apple. Bullock’s character Debbie Ocean is the ex-con sister of George Clooney’s Ocean’s character Danny. Blanchett as Lou is her right hand (wo)man, much like Brad Pitt was to Danny in their original remake. Though not much more is known about the film, we do know the ladies have been seen shooting the last few months all over the big city.
