This post is going to include some pretty spoiler-y details from Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life so if you haven’t watched it yet, log off and watch it immediately on Netflix. The rest of you, keep reading! As you know, the revival ended with a major cliffhanger. Here’s what went down at the Stars Hollow gazebo in the final moments.
Rory: Mom?
Lorelai: yeah?
Rory: I’m pregnant.
Throughout A Year in the Life, we saw Rory (Alexis Bledel) travel back and forth from Connecticut to see ex-boyfriend Logan (Matt Czuchry) in London. It’s worth noting that Logan was engaged to a Parisian girl throughout he and Rory’s affair. Outside of their romance, Rory had a nearly invisible boyfriend and a quick hookup with a guy in a Chewbacca costume. Technically, any of those three guys could be the father of Rory’s child.
With that being how the revival ended, fans were left wanting more. Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos told the U.K.’s press association over the weekend that they’re in “preliminary talks” for another season with Amy Sherman-Palladino and Dan Palladino. So we may actually find out who is about to be a dad!
“We hope [there are more installments]. We obviously loved the success of the show, fans loved how well it was done, it delivered what they hoped,” he said. “The worst thing is to wait a couple of years for your favorite show to come back and for it to disappoint you, but they sure delivered and people were really excited about more, and we have been talking to them about the possibility of that.”
Although so many people wanted Rory and Jess (Milo Ventimiglia) to get back together, it’s pretty certain he isn’t the father of her unborn child. Plus, with Ventimiglia tied up working on NBC’s This Is Us, he may not have the time to invest in another season. Another theory floating around is Rory could be carrying a child for her mom and her husband Luke (Scott Patterson).
