You know I love my girl La La – I am so proud of her and everything she’s accomplished. From amazing mom to successful businesswoman to awesome actress and performer – there’s not much she can’t do. That’s why I was so thrilled to see that she’ll be hosting “VH1’s annual Mother’s Day extravaganza, Dear Mama: An Event to Honor Mom.” How cool is that?
When I recently stumbled upon the Billboard headline: La La Anthony & Anthony Anderson to Host VH1’s ‘Dear Mama’ Special for Mother’s Day, I was so excited! This really will be a Mother’s Day to remember. Here’s what Billboard had to say:
“VH1’s annual Mother’s Day extravaganza Dear Mama: An Event To Honor Moms is back. The network has tapped the Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated black-ish actor and comedian Anthony Anderson alongside actress/author/entrepreneur La La Anthony to host this year’s mother-centric celebration.
The special, produced by Flavor Unit and Jesse Collins Entertainment, will feature several celebrity guests paying tribute to the women who raised them and shaped their success. Dear Mama will take place at the Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens in Pasadena, Calif. The list of honorees will be announced at a later date.
Queen Latifah, Jesse Collins, Shakim Compere and Jeannae Rouzan-Clay will serve as executive producers.
Dear Mama: An Event To Honor Moms will premiere on VH1 on Monday, May 8 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.”
I know La La will rock this show just like she does everything else, like a total pro! According to VH1:
“This will be La La’s first time handling host duties at Dear Mama, but we all know she knows her way around a stage. The cast member of the STARZ Network hit series POWER has enjoyed a career that has crossed several genres, including producing Broadway, a burgeoning film career, best-selling New York Times author and former radio personality. Meanwhile, Anderson is of course no stranger to hosting gigs. He also hosts To Tell the Truth and Animal Nation with Anthony Anderson.”
