I recently stumbled upon a pretty interesting article about Gwyneth Paltrow and her modern family in Glamour magazine, all stemming from an Instagram pic that she posted of her ex and new beau. Everyone was having brunch together and (seemingly) getting along in the photo.
Modern Family: Living and Loving in a Modern World
It’s an awesome way to set an example for how life should be. As grown adults, living in a modern world, getting along is paramount – especially when you’re raising kids. People break up; they get divorced, they fall out of love – it happens more than you think. People also stay in relationships where the love has been lost way past the due date while living unfulfilled lives. Sometimes getting divorced seems sad, but sometimes it’s best for everyone. No matter who you are, finding a way to move on that’s healthy and happy for everyone involved is best. Here’s how Gwyneth is doing it:
And, here’s what Glamour had to say:
“People are obsessing over her latest Instagram post in a super-positive way. As we all know, Paltrow ‘consciously uncoupled’ from her husband and father of her two children, Chris Martin, back in 2014. But by all accounts, they’ve stayed super close and are spotted together often. Just last week it was rumored that Paltrow is engaged to her boyfriend, Brad Falchuk. So her latest Instagram post of the two men in her life is probably going to add fuel to that fire.
And people are loving it. Including celebrity friends like Chrissy Teigen and Reese Witherspoon. True to form, Teigen, cracked wise with, ‘I hope this is me @johnlegend and my husband one day’ following it up with ‘Jk love you @johnlegend for now.’ Reese, ever the Southern girl, wrote, ‘💯 ❤️ ‘”
I don’t know about you, but I love this. I love that we live in a world where following your heart, even if that means divorce, is OK. And, that people have found a way to make modern living work for their families. Divorce is tough enough on families and kids, adding constant arguing and not getting along to the mix doesn’t make things any easier.
I think we can all use a bit of Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow vibes in our lives because when it comes down to it, it’s all about focusing on the positive. When you fill your life with positive vibes, good things will follow. It’s just that simple. Projecting that positive light for our children is one of the best things we can do as parents raising kids in a tough world. Not everything is always going to be perfect, but you can always find the best in everything.
