Marc Jacobs Newest Campaign is Groundbreaking

If Lana Wachoski doesn’t immediately ring a bell, let me help refresh your memory. Wachoski co-directed The Matrix with her brother and wrote the film V for Vendetta, except at the time, she wasn’t called Lana. Instead, she was called Larry.

Lana Wachoski is a transgender woman, Hollywood director and the new face of Marc Jacobs Spring/Summer 2016 ad campaign.

In the campaign, seen below, Wachoski dazzles in a plaid top and soft looking cardigan. In an Instagram post debuting the campaing, Marc Jacobs tells followers that he wanted this campaign to be about people who inspire him and open his mind to newer ways of thinking.

Check out the full story on how he met Wachoski and why he chose her for the ad in an Instagram post below. It’s a heart-warming story.

In this ad, not only is Jacobs featuring a gorgeous transgender woman, but one who is full of strength and love. This is why I find this ad campaign so ground-breaking. It goes beyond transgender rights and speaks to the human spirit.
