If you’re planning to arrive in Miami a few days before MAWC 2019 or stay a few days post event, there are a few cool things to do in Miami to make the most of your stay and see some of the incredible sights and culture my home city has to offer.
MAWC 2019: 5 Cool Things to Do in Miami
1. Ride the entire Metromover (Free)
Taking the entire loop from Bickell to the Arsht Center on the Metromover is a beautiful way to see the city without getting stuck in traffic.
2. Beach Life (Free)
You can’t come to Miami and not visit the beach! Miami offers the most beautiful long stretch of beach from South Beach to way up past North Miami. South Point beach is ideal for families; South Beach offers an energetic party vibe whereas North Miami offers a quieter stretch of beach.
3. People Watch ($$)
Ocean Drive is a must-see if you’ve never been to Miami. Hit one of the many bars or restaurants for some prime people watching time. News Cafe is a local favorite with an eclectic choice of foods and beverages.
4. Walk into Art Heaven (Free)
Wynwood Walls is famous for its street art and an extensive selection of trendy bars and restaurants. Check out the Thrillist for the best places to eat and drink in Wynwood.
5. Nerd out on Science
The Frost Science Museum boasts a beautiful aquarium, a recreation of the Everglades, a Design Lab, and a vast planetarium.
