Movie Night: 80s Movies

Back To The Future- I’m such a nerd when it comes to Back to the Future. It’s a multi-layered story that takes me back to a time where I let my imagination run wild. All three movies from the franchise are great, but the second film is especially notable. Watch as Marty McFly and Doctor Emmett Brown (also known as Doc), take on the past, and future in order to save their present.

Sixteen Candles- I had to add a John Hughes movie to this list, and Sixteen Candles is my personal favorite. Hughes was always able to tell an honest story about high school students in the 80s and Sixteen Candles was definitely one of the best. Watch Molly Ringwald take on the role of Samantha Baker, a love-struck teenager with a complicated sweet-sixteen story.

Ghostbusters- Watch this hilarious classic before the all-female remake comes out next year. Who wouldn’t want to watch this unlikely story featuring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Sigourney Weaver?

The Princess Bride- The Princess Bride is another favorite movie of mine. It’s a super funny comedy that never gets old. I’m pretty sure I can still recite the lines. Princess Buttercup is in danger of marrying a prince she doesn’t love. Only her true love, The Dread Priate Roberts (or Wesley) can save her. It’s an intracte tale about love. Who wouldn’t want to watch that?
