It’s not often that I feel so inspired by something like a short film. The one that I’m about to show you made me question some of my own habits when it comes to dealing with loved ones and strangers alike.
What does validation mean to you? For me, it’s all about validating myself. It’s about respecting my own feelings, desires and boundaries, which just boils down to self-love.
What about validating others? How often do we do that? It’s so easy to get caught up in our own heads. We’re so focused on our needs, wants, and desires that we forget to show that kind of love to others. Think about how good you feel when you receive a compliment. When you’re friends tell you that you’re great, you start to feel great. So, maybe it’s time to start giving love to others. Give a stranger a compliment or tell your friends something special. Remind your loved ones why you love them. It could change their day!
The short film below, titled Validation, was filmed in 2007, but it’s message still rings true today. It’s about a parking attendant who does more than validate parking tickets. Check it out below and be sure to leave me a message in the comments section. What do you think of this short film?
