Enrique Sapene has made a career of being dramatic. The 32-year-old, soap opera actor has starred in a plethora of Spanish language productions including his latest project for Telemundo entitled, “Eva la Trailera.” So I thought Enrique would be the perfect person to tell us how to inject a little bit of fun drama into our Valentine’s Day.
Our Valentine’s Day needs a boost of drama! How can we add some?
“Send your loved one flowers from a “secret admirer” with a clue that it is from you. Spray your cologne on the card; have a car with a driver pick them up and create a trail of rose petals at home that guides them straight to bed!”
Novelas have some crazy characters. How can they inspire us to amp up our looks to surprise our partner?
“Get some sexy lingerie and have your man get some hot underpants, too. Nothing better than unwrapping a hot gift! For both, go get some color on your skin — tanning or (spray tanning) gives definition to your muscles and curves. Also, wear a delicious cologne or perfume that will stick with your partner long after that amazing embrace and kiss.”
What type of gift would a novela character give their loved one if they were celebrating Valentine’s Day on an episode?
“A telenovela character would gift a key to an exotic location for a private and sexy rendezvous. It can be anywhere, as long as it makes you want to take your clothes off— anywhere from a beach to a forest, where you can make love outside and not know if you’re being watched by somebody. It adds an element of danger to the experience.”
Role playing can be fun! What novela should we be inspired by?
“How about Corazon Salvaje? It takes place in a pirate town with beautiful tanned women running around in bustiers and muscled sweaty rugged men engaging in sword fights. What could be better than an escapade on a pirate ship in the Caribbean?!
Dress up with your partner and play sexual games to enhance your fantasies. To me the sexiest telenovela characters are always the villains who will go to any extend to get their loved one, even kill. My favorite was tthe leading character on LA DUEÑA which was an adaptation of The Count of MonteCristo. She was BAAAAAAAD!”
If someone is planning to propose on Valentine’s Day, what tips can you share to make it a memorable occasion?
“Think outside of the box. Surprise your partner. This will hopefully be a moment to take with you for the rest of your life. My proposal was with 100 of our closest friends. The musical number had our favorite songs and my dogs Koji and Lola brought the ring to us.”
We hear you’re going to be on “My Life is a Telenovela” on WEtv this spring. How is your life like a telenovela?
“My life is absolutely a telenovela filled with passion, adventures, challenges, surprises and betrayals. I wouldn’t want it any other way. It keeps your blood pumping.”
Why did you decide to participate in a reality show?
“It’s an amazing experiment. It challenges you to face your fears and push your limits. We are all in a reality show, we each have our own, just look at yourself in the mirror and you will find it.”
You’re currently on a novela on Telemundo. Tell me what it’s about and who you play?
“The name of it is Eva la Trailera about a women who decides to take control over her life and start again past her youth and I play Ramon Estevez. Let’s just say he is not the kind of character you want to run into In a dark alley at night. He is danger! I love playing bad guys, love to get into their heads and understand how life made them bad.”
