Some of your favorite reality stars are looking for love and you get to be a fly on the wall! In the second season of “Famously Single,” you’ll see Ronnie Magro-Ortiz, Chad Johnson, Malika Haqq, David Mcintosh, Tiffany Pollard, Karina Smirnoff, and Dorothy Wang work through issues with Dr. Darcy Sterling as they try to find love.
Ronnie, Chad, Dorothy and Dr. Sterling attending the NBC Summer Press Day to discuss what fans can expect to see when the show premieres on Sunday, July 9th at 10 PM ET/PT on E!.
“Relationships are so incredibly difficult, and unfortunately there’s no owner’s manual that we’re ever given, Dr. Sterling said. “I think that if we were actually taught relationship and dating skills in school instead of some of the other things that we’re taught in public high schools, it would be so much more effective and we would have such a more likely possibility of actually having successful relationships. They’re really teachable skills, and we just need to be taught them. That’s it. You know, we need to learn how to have a fight. We have to be taught how to communicate. That’s what we need. And if we were to be taught these skills, the likelihood that relationships would be effective would be so much greater.”
All three participants explained that they entered the house where they stayed for the duration of the show for different reasons. Even though they may not have participated with the idea of finding love, some may have found a connection with a fellow participant.
“I think for me personally, it was you don’t go in trying to force something, but you go in kind of with an open mind, and you start off with the therapy, trying to figure out what it is that you can work on,” Chad explained. “And then, I guess the thing to try to do that I felt to do was to try and find somebody who was willing to work with me on what I needed to work on.”
Ronnie, who was on “Jersey Shore,” did indeed make a love connection while on the show with Khloe Kardashian’s best friend Malika. He admits the pair is no longer together but they spent some great times together.
“I feel like we all went in there with different objectives,” he explained. “I feel like we’re either all working ?? we are working on ourselves or we were looking for somebody. You know, I went in there personally looking for somebody. I feel like Dorothy went in there just as you see as the show progresses. You’ll see Dorothy is very comfortable with herself, which is very amazing.”
Dr. Sterling knows that there are a lot of reality shows out there that you could watch but she hopes fans of this season’s cast will watch.
“That’s what I love about our show. I love that our show ?? people get an opportunity to show a side of themselves that wasn’t available to viewers in previous shows.”
