If you missed the headlines early this week, the internet was abuzz with news that Sean “Diddy” Combs had changed his name…again…to Brother Love. No one could stop talking about it, and everyone was so curious! Here’s how he let the world know his latest name change:
“In a Twitter video that the beach-going Love (because that’s what we’re calling him now) posted earlier today, coincidentally his birthday, the bday boy wrote, “I decided to change my name again! My new name is LOVE aka Brother Love. #TakeDat.””(according to ENews)

Did Sean “Diddy” Combs Change His Name Again?
The news caused fans and the like to take to Twitter and other social channels in reaction to yet another name change. “In 1997, Sean was known as “Puff Daddy.” A year later, he went back to using Sean John. In 1999, he flipped the script and started going by “Puffy.” After that, he used “P.Diddy” as his professional name and more recently he’s gone with the nickname “Diddy.”” (via ENews)
While many of us were convinced the new name, Brother Love would stick for life, Diddy offered yet another update to the ongoing game of musical names. He took to Instagram to chat directly with fans and clarify the confusion, check out the video here:
I see you can’t play with the internet ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ be calm. Spread LOVE.

Here’s what he had to say:
“Well ladies and gentlemen, today I’ve come to the conclusion that you cannot play around with the Internet. Due to an overwhelming response from the media out there and just due to there not wanting to be any confusion, I was only joking. I didn’t change my name. It’s just part of one of my alter egos,” he explained in a new Instagram video. “To set the record straight—because I have a lot of press to do the next couple of weeks—you can address me by any of my older names but if you still want to call me Love, you can call me Love baby but I was only playing.”
I’m not sure which name I love the most…Brother Love had a pretty sweet ring to it, don’t you agree? No matter what, Diddy will always be a legend, and a household name (no matter what name he goes by!) and I love that he feels so free to let his creative spirit fly. Were you confused by all of this? What did you think of the name Brother Love?
