“Sex and the City” 3 is Not Happening, Sorry

If you were hoping to see more of Carrie Bradshaw’s adventures, you might be saddened by this piece of news. During a recent interview, Sarah Jessica Parker confirmed a third ‘Sex and the City’ film was not in the works. The woman who brought to life the sex and relationship writer for six seasons on HBO and for two feature films, isn’t joking either.

“Sex and the City” 3 is Not Happening, Sorry

Sarah Jessica Parker at the Hammer Museum Gala In The Garden held at the Hammer Museum in Westwood, USA on October 14, 2017.

“It’s over… we’re not doing it,” Parker told Extra at the New York City Ballet Gala this week. Adding, “I’m disappointed. We had this beautiful, funny, heartbreaking, joyful, very relatable script and story. It’s not just disappointing that we don’t get to tell the story and have that experience, but more so for that audience that has been so vocal in wanting another movie.”

The rumor mill reports that the holdout was Kim Cattrall, who played the role of PR pro Samantha Jones. DailyMailTV reports that Cattrall is refusing to do another film unless Warner Bros. promises to develop another project she is working on. The veteran actress took to Twitter to debunk the rumors and clarify what her true wishes are.

For all intents and purposes, the show was about four fabulous females who lived, worked and loved in New York City. They could’ve technically kill off Sammy Jones and keep it moving. Would that totally ruin the film for everyone?

Co-star Kristin Davis also posted about the latest news confirming doubly that this was the end of the road for her Manolo’s.

“I love to look back at the pics from our LONG history of Sex and the City, Davis said via her official Instagram page. “I am incredibly lucky to have gotten to play Charlotte through all of her ups and downs ( epitomized in one of my favorite episodes here). It is true that we are not going to be able to make a 3rd film. I wish that we could have made the final chapter, on our own terms, to complete the stories of our characters. It is deeply frustrating not to able to share that chapter (beautifully written by MPK) with all of you. So we will just have our memories, but please know that all of the love and support for us through the years is felt by us and we are so grateful for all of you! SATC forever in our heart.”

Although everything seems pretty final, I wouldn’t be surprised one bit if the topic of a final film doesn’t come up again in the future.

Would you ladies like to see one more “Sex and the City” film or are you over it? Let me know in the comments.
