Mattel recently delivered a Barbie doll that’s encouraging girls to be strong and “Raise Their Voices.” Last week, the company came out with their newest doll inspired by Zendaya Coleman. The Disney actress debuted her Barbie doll on the red carpet when she hosted the Barbie Rock ‘N Royals Concert Experience.
The doll replicates Zendaya’s Oscar 2015 look that was criticized by Giuliana Rancic on E!’s Fashion Police. Zendaya stood up for herself and her look.
On her Instagram page, Zendaya wrote “When I was little I couldn’t find a Barbie that looked like me, my…how times have changed. Thank you Barbie for this honor and for allowing me to be apart of your diversification and expansion of the definition of beauty.”
The Zendaya Barbie doll is proof that times have changed. She’s beautiful and I cannot help but commend Zendaya for being a strong young women who isn’t afraid to speak her mind. Congrats Zendaya!
