Watch out Miley Cyrus, the spotlight is moving toward mom Tish and sister Brandi who are currently promoting their new reality series. The Bravo show titled, “Cyrus vs Cyrus: Design and Conquer” you’ll see the mother-daughter duo tackle interior remodeling projects in their hometown Nashville. Tish and Brandi spoke at NBC Summer Press Day recently about the upcoming series set to premiere on May 25 at 10:15 pm.
“My mom and I have both been approached a lot about doing television, and she’s been on the production side for so long and I’ve been in front of the camera a lot as well,” Brandi explained about how the show came together. “And when it came to having our own show, it was always something that if we did it, we wanted it to be something we were very passionate about.”
Mom Tish added, “I think for the last probably seven years, I’ve had a lot of different people come to me about doing a show. And I’ve kind of always been behind the scenes and I love working in production and management. And I always knew that if I was going to do a show, it would have to be something I was super passionate about and I loved doing. And it also took it to be a place in my life where I had the time.
And so I have a production deal with Asylum Entertainment and work on a lot of different projects. And someone within the company came to me with this idea ‘Cyrus vs. Cyrus,’ kind of mother against daughter. And I just loved it, because I’ve really had a passion for interior design for a long time. And my daughter said to me, ‘You know, mom, that passion for design is your art. And I think it’s so cool that it’s going to be a time in your life that you’ve helped us get our art out there for the world and your art is just important,’ and really encouraged me to do this.”
In the first promo we see that daughter/pop star Miley also makes an appearance on the series. Although not much about the episode was revealed, they do confirm how little she was involved.
“Miley is in one of the episodes, which is super fun,” Tish said. “We love bringing the family into what we’re doing. She comes to me because she wants to have a place in Nashville, and she’s like, ‘Mom, let’s do this for your show.’ I’m like really? Like, I fought for ten years to do something ??”
Brandi adds jokingly, “yeah, keep out!”
