Tiffani Thiessen made a name for herself in the 90’s as the spunky cheerleader Kelly Kapowski on “Saved by the Bell” before stirring things up on “Beverly Hills 90210.” Today, Tiffani is a wife and busy mom-of-two, who now that her stint is over on the USA hit, “White Collar” is focusing more on gastronomy on her Cooking Channel show, “Dinner at Tiffani’s.”
On the show, she hosts dinner parties for many of her celebrity friends including Mario Lopez, Jason Priestley, Elizabeth Berkley, Lance Bass, Vanessa Lachey, and Daisy Fuentes. She not only makes wonderful dishes, but she also creates adult beverages that pair perfectly with the meal. Did our invitation get lost in the mail?
Since this week there are two big celebrations: National Sangria Day (December 20th) and Christmas, Tiffani partnered with Hefty to create a delicious Holiday Sangria recipe for you to make at home. Yes, you’ll be drinking sangria created by one of your favorite childhood stars that she’s served to many of her famous friends! The best thing about it is, you don’t have to wait for a holiday to make this. Let’s get started.
HOLIDAY SANGRIA RECIPE by Tiffani Thiessen
Ingredients:
1 bottle (750 ml) red wine
1 cup orange juice
½ cup orange liquor
¼ cup simple sugar
1 Honeycrisp apple; diced
1 lemon; cut into small wedges
1 lime; cut into small wedges
½ orange; cut into pinwheels
1 cinnamon stick
Directions:
Make batches of festive ice cubes ahead of time by filling ice cube trays with small cut up pieces of limes, lemons and apples. Instead of water, pour orange juice over the fruit and freeze. Store ice cubes in a Hefty® Freezer Slider Bag.
Combine the rest of your ingredients in a tall pitcher and mix. Refrigerate at least 4 hours. Pour sangria over the festive fruit ice cubes in individual glasses and enjoy. Cheers!
