There’s no place like home. But if you’re traveling abroad, staying in a beautiful hotel with the comforts of home (and then some) -like Das Stue in Berlin- isn’t a bad way to spend a few days. My family and I travel pretty often. It’s an integral part of what we do and we know we’re always on the move because it’s part of continuing to grow our business – we wouldn’t have it any other way. But it’s also important to us to make our travel experience the very best possible. So when we’re able to spend our time away from home in places like Das Stue, it makes the whole experience a real treat.
Originally built in the 1930’s, Das Stue was renovated to embrace its heritage but also incorporate contemporary minimalist designs. The spa, restaurants, lounges, and guest rooms all mirror the cool, elegant vibe with a nod to the era of respect for the finer things. And for the foodies who’d like to anticipate a good meal, Paco Perez, the chef who’s earned himself 4 Michelin stars, has led the property in its culinary evolution.
The property itself is extremely quaint and uniquely decorated (photos below), making it one of our favorite spots. Forbes has also called the property “One of the coolest hotels in Berlin right now.” I tend to agree. We received nothing but the best attention from their gracious staff (Executive Assistant Manager Phillip Unruh was a huge help). When you’re miles from home living on a hectic travel schedule, having people who truly enjoy doing their jobs and go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed is essential.
There are some really great options in this city and various hotels that do a fine job. But this place has a beautiful soul – and the looks to match. If you ever find yourself in Berlin, be sure to look them up. For more information about Das Stue, take a look at these travel reviews.
