So, you want to travel the world. See the sites, and experience new cultures? You’re not alone. Women from all over the world are trying out this whole “solo-travel” thing, and there are plenty of reasons on why you should try it out too. Traveling changes you, so it makes sense why you might want to see what all the buzz is about. Read on for my top benefits of solo travel and be sure to let me know what you think in the comments section. Are you up for a solo trip?
“I think it is very healthy to spend time alone. You need to know how to be alone and not be defined by another person.”- Oscar Wilde
Find Yourself- When you travel alone, you spend time on your own doing new things you would never do before. Doing new things forces us to grow. You get a chance to know your strengths better, get closer to yourself and change along the way. It’s catharsis.
“The best part about being alone is you don’t really have to answer to anybody. You do what you want.” – Justin Timberlake
Do What You Want- The best part of solo travel is that you answer to only yourself, which means that all the site seeing you do is on your terms. You leave your hotel or hostel when you want. It’s all up to you, which also means that you get to take your time or finish things really quickly. It’s your journey. How do you want to spend it?
“A journey is best measured in friends, rather than miles.”
Get Out of Your Comfort Zone- It’s hard to meet new people and make new friends unless you’re open to it. When you travel, you meet people easily because there are loads of fellow travelers around you. You get to experience different worlds with these people. They become honored friends and you can always look back on the times you had together.
Don’t be afraid of the solo journey. Be open. Let go of fears and travel freely!
