If you think high fashion also means high maintenance, Tide laundry detergent begs to differ. Challenging the rules of care for our most precious garments, Tide teamed up with fashion designer Rene Ruiz to create a red carpet gown that could withstand the washing machine. The results? Pretty stunning, if you ask me! Worn on the red carpet by the beautiful Ximena Duque at the 2016 Billboard Awards, the gown was absolutely ethereal yet completely manageable. Honestly, who has time for anything else?

MORE ABOUT WASHABLE FASHION:
The Surprisingly Washable Fashion Initiative came to life as a response to the continuing demand for washable garments and increased consumer appetite for designer fashions. The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) has been a partner of Tide for the implementation of the Surprisingly Washable Fashion Initiative. With the increasing trend of high/low fashion, many people are confused on the best way to care for their complex wardrobes. Some people default to the dry cleaner or avoid wearing their clothes altogether, but they may be surprised to find out how much of their clothes are washable and can be cared for at home!
