One of the most rewarding things about this season’s New York Fashion Week was the ability to work with a talented designer like Edwing D’Angelo to create the makeup looks that accompanied his eclectic Spring 2015 collection entitled “Voices of the Dessert.” The collection, inspired by the Tuareg people of the Saharan interior of North Africa, lent itself to rich colors and dramatic makeup application, making our choice of bold lips and a smokey eye the perfect complement to the tribal looks. D’Angelo’s collection brought a modern feel to clothing long-rooted in tradition, making the garments feel avant-garde.
