Blazer. Such a versatile piece, right? The right blazer can go from office to happy hour to tourist in a nanosecond – it’s the perfect layer for a tailored and profesh look, however also works well with a big soft scarf and your favorite jeans. Find one that works with both – try solids – navy, black, camel.
Great Options: Wool Blazer in Navy or Black or add some color with Herringbone.
Jeans. Depending on how many travel days you have, you can probably get away with one or two pairs of jeans. Perhaps something super casual for daytime excursions and a pair that can be mixed, matched and dressed up a bit when you head out on the town each night.
Great Options: High-Rise Skinnies in Black Wash are great for day-to-night, while classic flares are perfect paired with your favorite booties or heels.
White Button Down. There’s pretty much nothing more versatile than a white blouse and when you find your favorite, you’ll never go back. Perfect for the office or paired with jeans, it’s one of the best layering items out there.
Great Options: Cotton-linen white basic or 100% cotton for the win.
Turtleneck. With temps dropping, adding a cozy layer that can go from office to tourist to evening is the perfect addition to your packing woes. Two of these in neutral colors can be easily paired with dressy work slacks and an aforementioned blazer or under a layer for seeing the sights – or even paired with a chunky necklace for a night out.
Great Options: Cashmere t-neck in black or camel.
Office Essentials. If you’re headed to the office, you’ll need a couple of options (depending on how many days) to pair with a blazer, button down or t-neck. Keep ‘em basic, just in case you have to wear these twice.
Great Options: Perfect pencil skirt and ideal office trousers.
T-shirt. An essential layering piece, perfect for day tripping or flights – having a couple of perfect t’s will come in handy no matter what.
