My good friend Eva Longoria Baston just released a new bath collection with JCPenney and I couldn’t be more proud. Last year she released her first bedding collection with the retailer and now she’s added more styles as well as a gorgeous bath line that matches with many of the looks available for bedding. I caught up with Eva about the unveiling of her new collection and why she partnered exclusively with JCPenny. Read on for all the details.
Q&A With Eva Longoria Baston for JCPenney
“I’m so excited,” Eva said. “I started my bedding line with JCPenny last year and today we’re launching bath— so it’s an extension of home. We have the coordinating bath sets that coordinate with the bedroom sets if you want to continue the same color scheme. I love bathrooms; to me bathrooms are like a retreat. I want it to look like a spa, to feel like a spa. So today is really exciting because it’s been a dream of mine to continue to build the home brand because I’m such a homebody.”
You keep such a busy schedule. Why get into creating a home line?
“There was a huge white space. There was really traditional bedding that your grandma would have in her house and then there’s like the crazy colors for kids and you’re like, ‘I don’t want either of those.’ So we really found a sweet spot of a really elegant, sophisticated yet modern and contemporary.”
There are so many retailers you could’ve worked with. Why did you choose JCPenney?
“JCPenney and I have a long relationship. We’re both from Texas and JCPenney is a home destination. People go to JCPenney to buy pillows and their towels. So to be in that space on that floor is such an honor and so important because so many people will go to JCPenny just for their bedding.”
You’ve been all over the news after announcing your upcoming project Magnum P.I. What else are you working on?
I also have two other comedies in development, one at ABC and one at NBC. I have a huge soap opera at ABC that I’m developing as well that I’m so excited about. My production company is always does well with developing projects. I’m going to continue to create behind the camera.”
